'''Note:''' The [[Necrons]] did not receive a new air unit like the other races, instead they were enabled to use one of the C'tan gods, the [[Deceiver]], and the Attack Scarabs were converted into a melee anti-air unit.

In a weak attempt to make the new factions look better than everything else, Iron Lore reduced the balancing by a great extent. Soulstorm is not part of the main franchise, meaning that Soulstorm is more of a professionally done modification than an actual expansion.
===Reception===
Many players are unhappy with the latest expansion. As the company that created it was Iron Lore, instead of Relic, the overall quality of the game was reduced. Voice-acting was badly done for the new units, said units were either horribly unbalanced, pointless, redundant, or useless, and AI was sketchy at best.  In an ironic note, the special ability known as the "Soulstorm", the one the game is named after, is an overall expensive, weak and useless one.
