Calderis is one of the [[Blood Ravens]] recruiting worlds, first settled in a pre-[[Imperium]] era.
Like any feudal worlds, the [[Planetary Governor]] lives in orbit around the planet, and makes sure that the tithes of men and ores are properly paid. The [[Blood Ravens]] do not maintain a constant presence on the planet, instead opting to return every few years or decades to recruit.

Owing to the planet's harsh and arid climate, the locals are hardy and good [[Space Marines]] stock. Throughout the centuries, however, Calderis has suffered several outbreaks of [[Feral Orks]]. In recent seasons, the Orks have grown in number, power, and resources; forcing the Governor to send in Calderis' [[PDF]] to restore order. The [[Blood Ravens]] have also sent almost a dozen Battle Brothers to assist him.
