The first recorded involvement by Loyalist Marines came in 904 M41, when the [[Fire Hawks]] were drawn in by an attack from the Mantis Warriors. In 907 M41 the worlds occupied by the Mantis Warriors and Executioners were recaptured by two Marine Chapters.
In 912 M41 the Mantis Warriors were granted the Emperor's forgiveness, and sent on a one hundred year crusade. Their homeworld, along with that of the Executioners, was forfeited to other space marine chapters that had taken part in the Badab War . The Mantis Warriors were founded as part of the 598.M35 founding, created to help relieve the [[White Scars]] in monitering and countering the many threats that lie within the Warp storm known as the [[Maelstrom]]. The gene-seed of the Mantis Warriors is of a unknown origin however, even after in-depth research into their past.
