It is thought that '''Kossolax''' was originally known as [[Sergeant]] '''Solax''' of the 3rd Assault Company of the [[World Eaters]] [[Space Marine Legion|Legion]] before the [[Horus Heresy]]. The "'''Barbarus'''", a [[Rhino]] belonging to his squad was reportedly present during the Siege of the Emperor's palace at the height of the heresy, and has been spotted on numerous occasions throughout the millennia ever since.¹

Kossolax, now a bestial champion of [[Khorne]] with an entire company of [[Khorne Berzerkers|Berzerker]]s under his command, joined the [[13th Black Crusade]] of [[Abaddon the Despoiler]] with his own battlefleet.¹ ² His forces invaded [[Agripinaa]] where they were confronted with the [[Blood Angels]] led by the [[Sanguinary Priest|Sanguinary High Priest]] [[Numitor]]. In order to turn the tide of battle, he ordered his Berzerkers to fall upon their allied [[Chaos Cult|cultist hordes]]. The massacre that ensued was enough to summon a mighty [[Bloodthirster]] who dealt heavy losses to the Blood Angels and their [[Death Company]]. Although they managed to overcome the daemon and drive the World Eaters from the planet, Kossolax was not slain. Seeking vengeance, Numitor vowed that he would hunt him down, no matter the cost.³
