In 4th Edition Stikkbombz work like frag grenades. There is no longer a Krak stikkbomb. In From 3rd Edition onwards, both Frag and Krak Stikkbombz functioned identically to their Grenade counterparts. However, there is a dangerous variant known as the "Super Stikkbomb" available only to Orks which consists of several anti-tank devices strapped together, and can be almost as lethal to the user as to the target.
The stick handle is very useful, allowing the grenade to be easily carried stuffed down a boot or through a belt. The main reason for the popularity of the design is its brutal appearance and appropriate sense of size and power.
During Rogue Trader and 2nd Edition, Orks had four types of Stikkbombz, equivalent to smoke, frag, krak and melta bombs used by humans. Besides these four they had other unique grenade types of their own, which made use of aspects of Ork culture - fungus and squigs.
