Spur is the name given to a wide variety of performance-enhancing drugs produced primarily in the underhives of Necromunda.[1]

Spur tends to be less popular than other options such as Spook and Onslaught due to the fact that Spur is renowned for its wide-ranging side-effects and since no two batches of Spur are ever the same, the taker will be completely unaware what side-effects they may endure and to what extent until after they have taken the drug.[1]

Benefits

All types of Spur are stimulants, which hyper-stimulate the nervous system, heightening the accuracy and range of all the senses, reducing muscle reaction times, and even accelerating thought processes.[1]

Side-Effects

As mentioned above, Spur is well-known for the side-effects it can induce. Some examples of these are listed below.

  • The individual's nervous system is hyperactivated at a vastly accelerated rate. This can result in them becoming nigh-invulnerable warriors, dodging bullets and making impossible shots across a city. Unfortunately, this level cannot be maintained for long and a short period of supremacy is traded for quick and long-term incapacitation as their body shuts down and attempts to recover from the experience within minutes.[1]
  • The taker's reactions times improve, but their senses become hyper-sensitised to the extent that a sudden and unexpected physical shock (maybe something as small as a comrade coming up from behind and tapping them on the shoulder) will cause their nervous system to overload and make them lose consciousness.[1]
