Surface-to-Air Missiles are ground-based weapons systems used by both the forces of Chaos and the Imperium to defend ground installations like airbases against aerial threats, forming a part of the outer defense ring.[1] They can also made mobile by being mounted on a super-heavy vehicle that uses a templum-organ launch system to shoot three missiles at once, supported by slaved autocannons.[2]
Having a range of at least a hundred missiles, Surface-to-Air Missiles lock onto enemy aircrafts.[1]
