A Synod is an assembly of priests that act as both the religious authority for an area or world and often provide governance.

Ministorum

The term "synod" can refer to the Adeptus Ministorum synod which rules over an Imperial Cardinal World. The ruling Ministorum synod with authority over all other Cardinal Worlds is the Holy Synod of Terra.text-middle[Help]

Mechanicus

Alternatively, a forge-synod is a religious governing body of the Adeptus Mechanicus that rules over a Forge World.[1] Each Forge World's forge-synod ultimately owes fealty to the Synod of Mars as the predominant synod of their religion, the Cult Mechanicus.[2]

Trivia

  • In the real world, a synod is a council of Christian denomination that is typically convened to decide matters of doctrine, administration, or application. The term is similar to assembly or meeting.
