Greetings. I am a Wh40k fan and like the website but:

Azrael is the Dark Angels Supreme Grand Master and is one of the most secretive of the members of the already very secretive Dark Angels.

This is funny. Please,no need for exaggaration.

And how is this exaggeration? I would like to point you towards the official games workshop website and ask you to read what is written there and tell us how it differs sufficiently for you to have made your statement.--Jonru 09:36, 9 November 2006 (CET)

Lore Conflict

Codex: Dark Angels (6th Edition) has that Azrael did not become the Supreme Grand Master until the death of Supreme Grand Master Naberius in 940.M41 However, Imperial Armour Volume 5 lists Azrael as the Supreme Grand Master during the siege of Vraks in 821.M41 I can only figure that these are two different Supreme Grand Masters who had the same name.

Update: Listened to "Trials of Azarel". Kharn mentions that the "Azrael" we know is not the first Supreme Grand Master to go by that name. So it seems that the "Supreme Grand Master Azrael" that fight in Vraks isnt the same as the "Supreme Grand Master Azrael" who is currently the chapter master.TheNuclearSoldier (talk) 03:14, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

Replying to TheNuclearSoldier: Per The Trial of Azrael, Kharn at no point mentions killing another Azrael, but only another "Supreme Grandmaster." It's not really a surprise that Kharn has killed a Dark Angels Chapter Master in his ten millennia career. And given how many characters share first names in the space marines alone, it's not shocking that at some point there was another Azrael.

Azrael: “I am supreme grandmaster Azrael. Remember that name, Betrayer! It will be the last one you hear!” Kharn: “Of course. That ridiculous helmet you wear should have given you away. You are not the first dark angels chapter master to bear that name, and neither are you the first I have slain.”
The sentence is ambiguous, but syntactically I think it leans more toward "you're not the first chapter master I've slain" over "You're not the first Supreme Grandmaster Azrael I've slain."
