Talk:Battle of Sixty-Three Nineteen
Thought I'd try something I've seen on other wikis with the layout of this article. Also, does anyone like the idea of putting in a battle infobox template to these articles? I quite like them, but I'm not sure if they'd be hugely useful. Thanks.--Mob 23:11, 5 October 2009 (UTC)
- The structure looks pretty good and I second the infoboxes. Some battles are detailed enough to warrant one. --Digganob 10:15, 6 October 2009 (UTC)
Picture
Careful with the use of this picture; I know it's the cover of the book that opens with the battle, but the marines in it are Sons of Horus, not Luna Wolves - there was a story explaining this put about at the time that BL had to switch the covers of Horus Rising and False Gods (which is all about the Sons of Horus but has Luna Wolves on the cover...) for a scheduling reason, but I wouldn't know where to find a post referencing that now. So, in-universe, the legion has the wrong colours and heraldry, out-of-universe, it likely wasn't supposed to portray the battle anyway...--Mob 22:00, 20 April 2012 (CEST)
- If the marines in the picture are meant to be Sons of Horus, why are they wearing Luna Wolves colous rather than the Sons' green armour? The Lemur 12:46, 21 April 2012 (CEST)
- They're not. Luna Wolves are white with the Moon Wolf badge. These guys are grey with the Eye of Horus badge. Many, many artists portray the Sons of Horus as grey rather than pale green - look at almost every picture of them in Collected Visions. If you want to be basic, leaving aside discussion of the real world events and mistakes, this picture is showing guys in grey armor wearing Sons of Horus badges fighting, not guys in white armour wearing Luna Wolves badges fighting. The article is about guys in white armour wearing Luna Wolves badges fighting. I'd move that using it in this article is incautious and opens us up to criticism of inaccuracy on that alone.--Mob 19:13, 21 April 2012 (CEST)
- Apart from the image depicting the Sons of Horus at a point in time when they didn't exist yet, this also isn't most likely the assault on the Imperial Palace of 63-19. The Imperial Palace of 63-19 was a steep tower and was conquered by Loken's 10th company and an Assault Squad from Abaddon's 1st. The only numbers visible on the image are XI, XIII and XIV. I suggest to refrain from any subtitle for this image. --DetlefK 21:02, 21 April 2012 (CEST)
