Talk:Defay
Ordo Issue
Arklaw: "Defay is specifically called a Malleus Inquisitor in Warhammer monthly and the Inquisitor Ascendant book. Whereas in The Inquisition (Background Book) he is called an Inquisitor Lord of the Ordo Hereticus, with his picture confirming that this is the Inquisitor from the Inquisitor Ascendant story. And the triumph of Thracian was 400 years before these events. When Gravier meets him after his flight, Defay claims to be from the Ordo Hereticus. An explanation to tie this all together could be that the Ordo Malleus summoned him, an Hereticus agent, to send him to Nicodemus."
Timeline issues
Arklaw: "Defay is mentionned in Eisenhorn Malleus putting him at 339.M41 according to the passage of time in the novel. But then he is mentionned in the Gaunt's Ghost series in a memory twenty years before the events of First and Only, which occur around 765.M41. Are those the same Defays?"
Chronology issue
Arklaw: "The deadly Xandrian uprising, whose only mention in a box of Warhammer Monthly and the anthology of Inquisitor Ascendant, say Defay survived the eye of terror, was then "inaugurated" into the Ordo Malleus inner sanctum (does it mean he became an Inquisitor there or simply was rewarded?) and was tasked with going to nicodemus (implying he needed to there directly maybe. The issue is that Gravier was with him on Darendara beforehand, was Gravier not present during the Xandrian Uprising? or did they stop on darendara along the way before reaching nicodemus?"
