STC

In the Novella, Prince of Crows, its mentioned that Gloriana-class ships are actually STC made. How would this best be included in the page? Excerpt: "Sevatar knew the STC Gloriana-pattern battleship as well as he knew the contours of his own armour. The Nightfall was born of the same breed." - Prince of Crows, Chapter IX TheNuclearSoldier (talk)

Well every piece of tech in the Imperium originated from STCs so it’s not a notable feature Harriticus (talk) 15:16, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

There are definitely technologies used by the Imperium which are not STCs, although I think most of those are repurposed xenotech (C'tan phase weapons come to mind). KazilDarkeye (talk) 16:20, 2 January 2021 (UTC)

TEaTD vol. III

Chapter 1 of the book is centered around Guilliman's flag ship's bridge where the Augur officer spots a Gloriana class ship that is of the Scilla pattern. Eventually due to warp influence, the Augur shows 50+ Scilla pattern Gloriana ships and they all are the Vengeful Spirit. The chapter ends with the narrator saying that only 20 of such ships (Gloriana) were built. There's certainly an implication that the narrator is referring to Scilla pattern, but word-for-word it is not stated.

Gloriana also predates imperium, so it's impossible to say how many human colonies produced how many Glorianas during the Dark Age of Technology. Lorewise saying only 20 Gloriana were ever built is completely bonkers.

Whether the narrator in that chapter is referring to Imperial built Glorianas or Imperial Glorianas of Scilla pattern is unclear. Factually, the conflicting sources section of the article is correct, whether the implication needs mentioning is another matter. --NilsBohr (talk) 21:34, 30 September 2024 (UTC)

It showed a ship. Even rendered down into a flickering holo of unhealthy jade light, the scale of the warship was evident enough to steal my breath. An immense battleship, majestic beyond majesty, with its spinal fortresses and armoured prow delineating the bulky murderousness of a Scylla-pattern variant of the ancient Gloriana-class hull.

I knew the ship at once, as did Lheor. Only a handful of those battleships had ever been constructed; the Emperor himself had granted them to his Space Marine Legions to serve as flagships. Only one Gloriana vessel in all the Emperor’s fleets was born from the Scylla variant construction schema.
