This planet's segmentum is far from being unknown: since the whole Macharian Crusade regarded Segmentum Pacificus, it is not only likely, but certain that such a planet touched by the Crusade was part of the Pacificus. --Jacob Sterlov 00:34, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Speculation or extrapolation is not allowed. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 10:26, 9 February 2011 (UTC)
Definition of extrapolation: extend (a graph) by inferring unknown values from trends in the known data.
Definition of speculation: form a theory or conjecture without firm evidence.
The above mentioned processes are those of induction, meant to find something new. (1) I didn't infer unknown values from trends, (2) nor I formulated a conjecture without evidence. Instead, I just crossed two pre-existing and totally evident data to obtain a result. This is logical deduction that saves the truth of any given premise. I didn't change anything nor I invented information. Information was there and I found it.
  • (a) Macharian Crusade happened in Segmentum Pacificus;
  • (b) Kallastin is a Macharian Crusade planet;
So
  • (conclusion) Kallastin is a Segmentum Pacificus planet.
This is not extrapolation nor speculation. This is truth.--Jacob Sterlov 16:23, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
It is only truth if you have a text saying "the whole Macharian Crusade regarded Segmentum Pacificus" ;) --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 11:20, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
That is exactly what Macharian Crusade article says: It took place on the far western edge of the galaxy, within the Segmentum Pacificus and leading into the Halo Zone. I hope it is well sourced in that article because I didn't write it.
But really, I don't want to rise a debate about this point. I didn't want to question rules and I also see there is a lot of work to do in other aspects of articles that is even more important, so if you feel this info is not correct, I will not complain for having it removed. I opened discussion because I felt I could defend this change I had made just because I read there is little time to justify dubious changes before removal. Ok, in brief I say it is up to you all and I don't want my previous comment to create any more disturb. :-) --Jacob Sterlov 18:36, 14 February 2011 (UTC)
Please do never ever take other Lexicanum articles as the only sources. Only write and correct things if you have the original source at your disposal to check yourself (= quality control). That is the the only way to avoid cascading errors (meaning not to spread shit that somebody wrote into other parts). And no worries I am not inciting a debate. I only "train" people to always question and doubt and to make sure that they just write what is actually true without any doubt. And it always helps to check the German Lex, too. Check 1 and check 2 and check 3. A look at these three maps confirms that the Macharian crusade only involved the Pacificus and beyond its borders only the halo zone. The other maps show that Kal(l)astin indeed lies inside the Segmentum, and not in the Halo zone. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 11:17, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
(1) Thank you for the advice.
(2) Sorry, I was just preventing you from thinking that I was inciting useless debate. It was my mean to be polite with you, he-he. Of course I need training and - as you see - I am looking for it!
(3) I should be more attentive to German Lex, even if I cannot speak German, because it is clear it's full of info and details.
(4) My mistake was thinking the Halo Zone is considered part of the Segmentum.

No offence taken. Anyway a look to the German lex is always useful (even if you don't speak the language) because it is the "mother" project and changes and issues are always first implemented there. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 17:14, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
