The connection between the Votann and "Squats"
Maybe it's just me, but I feel like some of the wording of the article might sort of give the wrong impression as to the Squats VS Kin situation. For example saying things like "The Leagues of Votann are a prominent Squat civilization" or "The Squats of the Leagues of Votann" both imply that "the Squats", as in the originals, are something that is a distinct group that the Votann are simply a variation of. It's as if it's suggestion "Squats" are the main thing, and the Leagues are something within that group.
The impression I get is that the Leagues are the squats and there is no actual distinction between "Squat" and the Leagues defined by the lore - Squats is just the imperial term for the Leagues/Kin, although the ones on Necromunda have adopted the name to a larger extent. Referring to the Leagues as if they are a subset of "The Squats" seems a bit odd to me, as the original Squat empire doesn't exist and never did as they've been retconned to be the Leagues.

- Yeah, Squats and Leagues are meant to be the same thing, but currently this article (and a few others) seem to take "Squats" as if they're something that is separate to the Leagues/Kin that they're just a part of. The Leagues aren't a type of Squats, they are the Squats, so saying the Leagues are a society of the Old Squats doesn't seem right as that lore no longer applies. Same with something like the Ironhead squats, they aren't connected to the Old Squats, they're former League Kin. Confusion between Kin and Leagues of Votann
I think this article needs to be split in 2 to differentiate the Kin as a race, and the Leagues as Military structures.
Sources: The Kin/Kindred is the race. Not all Kins are part of a League.[1]
The Leagues are Kindreds in possession of an Ancestor Cores, they were at first first military alliances, and turned into nations.[2]

- Alright, I've created a separate page for "modern" Squats (Kin) while leaving their original iteration as a separate category (Squats (Rogue Trader)). Anyone is free to add anything that is useful to either Harriticus (talk) 04:52, 16 February 2025 (UTC)
