Criteria for a "Kill Team" miniature

I suggest that we define what miniatures belong here and what don't, and to then include that in the header of the gallery so readers understand the information here. Currently, the miniatures here are all ones that were released originally in a Kill Team box set, with rules for a bespoke team of operatives. However, there are other kill teams like the Chaos Cultists that are not included even though they were released in Kill Team box set, presumably because all the miniatures on that team had been released earlier as units for 40k.

I don't have any issues with the page as it is, though I do believe that as time goes by, this system is going to become increasingly irrelevant. The only alternative I can think to it would be to include all miniatures playable in Kill Team, or at least ones that have a rule set outside of the compendium. That would be a lot of images, though, and I'm don't think it would add much value.

In any event, the main reason I think this should be discussed is just so we can expand the introduction to the page to describe the criteria for a miniature to be pictured on this page. I'm perfectly happy with something like "This is a gallery of miniatures which first released in a Kill Team box set" or something like that. --Mikaka (talk) 03:52, 13 September 2023 (UTC)

My opinion is that for any miniature set released, it should preferably have only 1 picture in 1 gallery, for the system it was initially released for. The spirit of those miniatures galleries is certainly not to duplicate entries between systems as much as possible, and create a huge mess of pictures. Also, i just checked there are no groupshots of the annual/compendium KTeams so it would mean putting pictures of each individual operative here.
That said, i think it's fine that, if a set was released first in a Kill Team setting, it goes on that page, and if it was first released for 40k, it goes on a 40k page. KT sets also immediately or very quickly receive rules for 40k, whether in a Codex or trough a downloadable PDF, so they are clearly intended for both systems from the get go, and not an optional addon or afterthought (like the HH units were for 40k trough optional compendium books), so it make sense that they would be on both KT and 40k pages (altho i'm not the one putting them on 40k pages, i don't remove them from there).
So my opinion to your inquity is that this gallery shouldn't be augmented by pictures of Kill Teams found in the compendium/annual books which are made from older 40k set. This would be the role of to-do individual pages like the current KT pages presenting each operatives from each Kill Teams.
Updating the description would be my preferred option.

Agreed. I've updated the intro accordingly. --Mikaka (talk) 16:05, 20 September 2023 (UTC)
