Talk:N'Kari
In my quest to clarify links between 40K and Warhammer Fantasy.
N'kari is perhaps one of the clearest, most recent links published after: Realm of Chaos: The Lost and the Damned
It is very much splitting hairs but I have gone to great lengths to clarify that it is not exactly specified that N'Kari originates from the Warhammer World. Or that N'Kari originates from the same planet as Bubonicus and Flamefist - but this is all acceptably "implied" so heavily I'll leave the more in character text stating that.
- I might suggest someone editing down my Trivia section from being too bloated.
Warhammer World within the 40K Galaxy
Although it is implied that N'kari, Bubonicus and Flamefist all originate from the same planet and this is the [Warhammer World], it is not specified exactly in this way.
Bubonicus and Flamefist are introduced in Realm of Chaos: The Lost and the Damned as Warhammer Fantasy Chaos Champions that successfully ascended to become Daemon Princes. (pgs. 121-126 - Chaos Warbands)
Like numerous other daemon characters, a daemon named "N'Kari" exists within both Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer 40,000.
Realm of Chaos: The Lost and the Damned also specifically mentions "The Warhammer World is bound by storms of magic so that it remains isolated from the other worlds of the human galaxy." (pg. 77 - Chaos Monoliths)
The links to the Warhammer World is more subtly implied for N'Kari in Codex: Chaos (2nd Edition) "N'Kari was born on an isolated, backward world which has been trapped at the centre of a violent warp storm for millennia. The Chaos powers have repeatedly attempted to conqueor this planet, but have so far been foiled by the uncorrupted peoples of the world. N'kari rose to prominence during one of the Chaos Powers' many attempts to conquer the planet." 1
Bubonicus is also mentioned in Codex: Chaos (2nd Edition) as "formerly a mortal Champion of Nurgle on one of the myriad lost worlds in the galaxy" (p. 131).
Codex: Chaos (2nd Edition) does not specifically state Bubonicus and N'kari originate from the same planet.
