Talk:Old Ones
Contradictions
Article contradicts itself at the beginning saying the Old ones created the Webway, then later saying the Elder did.
It also contradicts the newer Necron fluff, that the C'tan didn't go into stasis, but were shattered by the Necrons themselves. Cliveklg (talk) 23:34, 4 April 2017 (MDT)
- That is because things get revised and changed over time, especially the C'tan. There are no mentions of Old Ones to allow for a revision that unifies things. Midnight Sun (talk) 08:35, 5 April 2017 (MDT)
question
Hm... Is this copied from the Codex? - Odysseus 16:40, 31 December 2005 (CET)
error
Theirs a major error in this that will require the article to be rewritten. The necrontyr were not created by the old ones as is stated in the article. The Necron codex states that they were a younger race that developed in the wake of the old ones, not created by the old ones. Nikzbitz 11:43, 19 March 2007 (CET)
warp
I was under the impression that Warp wasn't separate from reality until the C'Tan separated it to prevent the Eldar and Orks from using psychic powers against the C'Tan and Necrontyr, so I think the comment on the Old Ones' understanding of the Warp is incorrect. I also think the article goes too far into detail about the Necrontyr. That should really be in a separate article, this one should focus on just the Old Ones. Maybe there should be a different page for the war between the Old Ones and the Necrontyr, with the pages about the races being specific and only talking about the race. --TheHive 03:44, 28 January 2008 (CET)
krork
What exactly is a Krork? The page links to Orks, sure. But what use is it to call them such? Syphon
- I've always thought it that "Krork" was likely an early name for the race, "Ork" being a version of the name corrupted by the aeons - just like other languages evolve and shift. InquisitorRozenberg, 2017-04-05 12:50 (BST)
The Krork are said to have been 12 metres tall, which is rather a lot taller than your average Ork. Who knows how many Orkoid races there have been at one time it other? RedInq (talk) 20:33, 26 December 2024 (UTC)
- Krork should not link to Ork. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:52, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
Chaos Child
Can anyone confirm any mention of the Old Ones in The Inquisition War Trilogy book Chaos Child? I cannot seem to find them being expressly mentioned. --C'tan 22.17, 20 June 2011 (CEST)
Its been ages since Ive read it so can't remember for sure, but I dont think there was any particular mention of them. i'll have a wee skim through the book tomorrow to double check Thelemur 23:26, 20 June 2011 (CEST)
- Many thanks Thelemur, I have been skimming through the book myself and can't see any direct mention of them so I might just remove them from the article since they don't feature in the book. C'tan 23:33, 20 June 2011 (CEST)
A Number of Races
I didn't found in Necrons 5 edition (where source stated) that Old Ones were a number of xeno-races. See? That's why I insist that first paragraph of any article must also have source for itself. Apparently one of the users changed first paragraph of article, adding information that 'They are notable for being the first of all the galaxy's sentient life'. This fact IS in the Necrons 5 ed (how it is stated in source), But NOT the fact about multiplicity of races in one name 'Old Ones', that mentioned in previous sentence of the same patagraph. The matter is that some information in first paragraphs of articles really can have just simple stating that, for example, 'Captain XXX is a captain of YYY Chapter", but can also have contradictory (or questionable information) that MUST have it's own source!--Darkelf77 (talk) 00:47, 2 August 2018 (MDT)
- Unsourced information can be removed on sight without the need for discussion. Including introductory sentences/ paragraphs. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 11:51, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
