Talk:Planetary Governor
From Warhammer 40k - Lexicanum
I'm thinking about doing a list of named planetary governors, but I can't quite decide what format to use. I'm thinking something similar to one of the following:
- List of Rogue Traders - A bit ugly for this sort of list, in my opinion, but it would allow one to order by planet.
- List of Chapter Masters - Looks nicer than the above, but not orderable by planet.
- Known Members of the Deathwatch - Looks nicer than the above, but not orderable by planet.
Either way it would have fields for the Governor's name (ordered by surname), Planet, Notes and Source. What do people think? KazilDarkeye (talk) 11:38, 14 April 2019 (MDT)
- You can take as a basis 'List of Chapter Masters' adding 'Planet' or others rows and removing insufficient rows. Also when you will add Sources, in my opinion it would be better to just state them on each Governor line and not with the numbers as it is in the 'List of Chapter Masters'. The numbers there look too awkward for me. But fell free to do as you see it.--Darkelf77 (talk) 13:21, 14 April 2019 (MDT)
- I still do not think that lists need sources. Every item in a list should have the sources in its article. Makes for much easier reading. And in the process of making the list if need be a stub can be created along the lines of "xyz is a Planetary Governor". --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 15:34, 14 April 2019 (MDT)
- If a stub existed with at least one source that would at least already form a starting point for extending the article later and give the reader not a "red", empty link, but at least a one-liner from which to go by himself if he is really interested. This (in my opinion) is way harder from a list where you just have name after name after name... So I am all for stubs. ---Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 03:24, 15 April 2019 (MDT)
- I mean that would be an extreme example of a stub. Surely the person compiling such a list could at least add some basic info. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 10:49, 15 April 2019 (MDT)
