The Wombles, Wombling Free

The principal joke that the Reclaimers are built off of is that they are superficially similar to the kids show "The Wombles." The color scheme, fondness for Corvus helms, habit of scrounging through old refuse, and having a mechanic character called "Toba Morie" come to mind. It's not subtle once you learn the reference. That being said, I can't find a single source in which Mitchell (Stewart) actually acknowledges this decision. Can this info be added to the wiki despite that, or do I need to get the author's word on that matter directly? --Shaztrot (talk) 23:01, 1 July 2025 (UTC)

Concerning your question that is the kind of information that a "Trivia" section is there for (see Help for more details). In short: Yes, you can include such things under the condition that you can make a convincing case for it. An author's explicit acknowledgement isn't always necessary. But obviously without it you have to formulate it as a possibility not as fact. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum (talk) 04:29, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
I was lucky enough to get word from Mr. Stewart himself on this issue and have added that as a source. His explanation did not actually specify which elements of the Reclaimers were deliberate Wombles references, so I still tried to take care to frame all of the above as possibilities rather than facts. My wiki writing style needs work, but the actual content is there, at least. I hope that this was satisfactory. --Shaztrot (talk) 23:46, 7 July 2025 (UTC)
