Army lists are rules-content and therefore are not allowed. Stick strictly to categorizations based on the background. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 08:35, 9 January 2012 (CET)
- I always figured that this type of template was useful simply to link together related forces of the same race/chapter/faction, not to actually create an army list. Would it be better if the title of the template was changed?--Ytokes 09:14, 9 January 2012 (CET)
- Certainly no mention of an edition should be made. Plus it should be useful for whatever edition you play as you are supposed to look for background info, not for artificial army list categories. On a different note it might be better for the overview if Non-special characters were separated from "troops". --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 09:24, 9 January 2012 (CET)
- So name it Space Wolves Forces and have Special Characters become Notable Characters or Heroes? or should we just lose the two defining categories (troops and special characters) and just have the links?--Ytokes 10:16, 9 January 2012 (CET)
- Or "Troop overview" or sth similar. Does not matter too much, but it should be uniform across the templates. As for the others maybe something like "Specialists", "Officers" or whatever. Characters is probably not ideal. --Inquisitor S., Großmeister des Ordo Lexicanum 10:41, 9 January 2012 (CET)
I've started a thread in the Forum here to discuss army list boxes, as we need to apply standardisation across all the similar pages. Feedback would be appreciated. The Lemur 04:16, 1 March 2012 (CET)
Characters
I removed the "Characters" section from the list as it seems rather game mechanicsey - the only characters mentioned are the ones from the codexes. The other forces info boxes we re-did don't have the special characters section either. The Lemur 23:35, 21 June 2012 (CEST)
- Well, the Chaos forces portal hasn't been so amended; and I don't see what's wrong with including the characters, since the Chapter organization is also, arguably, a reflection of the game mechanics.--Proteus77 02:13, 22 June 2012 (CEST)
- The problem with including the characters is that it raises the question of what characters to put in. The ones currently in the list are characters from the codex(es) (as the info boxes were initially created as force organisation tables), but as we don't organise things by army lists this becomes problematic. If Ragnar Blackmane is mentioned - why not all the other named Wolf Lords? The only difference is that Ragnar has a model and rules.
- I dont agree that chapter organisation is rules based at all - it's very much background based, thats why we changed the format away from the HQ/Troops?Elites etc layout.
