The Trials of Ghoroi V
The Trials of Ghoroi V was a battle between the T'au Empire and the Eldar in 811999.M41, which saw the Eldar ambush a T'au fleet above the planet Ghoroi V, during the Third Sphere Expansion.[1]
The majority of the T'au's fleet was destroyed or crippled in the ambush and only a few Fire Warriors managed to evacuate and land on the acidic swamps of Ghoroi V, with the Eldar pursuing them soon afterwards. Though they were few in number, the Fire Warriors used a combination of shared targeting data and relentless missile bombardment to fight the larger Eldar force pursing them. Their attack caused the Eldar such heavy casualties in the battle, that they soon abandoned the fight and returned to their ships - though the Fire Warriors' struggles to survive the swamps of Ghoroi V had just begun. The stranded Fire Warriors were then forced to fight off constant attacks from the planet's massive predators, as they waited for the Empire to send ships evacuate them. When the ships finally did arrive, they found the surviving Fire Warriors had bonded together in an impromptu Ta'lissera ritual - and were surrounded by the corpses of several hundred predators.[1]
