Thirteenth Curse
The Thirteenth Curse is the name given by the Imperium, to an unknown coven of five powerful alpha-level Black Legion Sorcerers. They were first encountered by the Imperium during the Nachmund Rift War's invasion of the Sanctus Wall world Catagyl, which is currently on-going.[1]
History
Each of the unknown Sorcerers' psychic might has been heavily augmented and is now nearly at apocalyptic levels. The Imperium does not know how this occurred though, various theories have been stated. This includes the Thirteenth Curse's proximity to the Great Rift, some unknown property of Catagyl or because of its population's lack of faith, as several Priests have claimed. Regardless of how it has occurred, the Thirteenth Curse's might has allowed them to turn every battle they join into a devastating defeat for the Imperium's forces. However the coven now numbers four Sorcerers, after the Fiend was slain by members of the Sisters of Silence.[1]
Known Members
- The Eye - Turned two hundred Guardsmen inside out with a single gesture, during the Imperium's retreat from Casmis.[1]
- The Fiend - Destroyed several Imperial armies by himself, before being slain by the Sisters of Silence. His powers included the ability to cause several Space Marines to explode with a single blast of psychic might. The Fiend could also hold hundreds of foes completely still, as he caused their bodies to tear apart. He nearly killed the Novamarines' entire Strike Force Ishmayn with this last ability, as he attacked the Mountain-plex Ajax. Only the sudden arrival of the Sisters of Silence', stopped this from occurring. Though the Fiend had been able to kill half of the Strike Force's members, before his death.[1]
- The Harvest - Dismembered a Warhound Titan, during the fight for Hethker's Pass[1]
- The Headsman[1]
- The Lament - Caused the death of an Orbital Defence Platform's garrison, by whispering through a corrupted vox channel that could not be shut off.[1]
