The Trysst Dynasty are a mining cartel which appeared and most clearly showed itself on the Imperial world of Ghosar Quintus.[1a]

History

The planet was once a model of Imperial compliance, fulfilling the quotas of the Adeptus Munitorum and Adeptus Mechanicus with unprecedented ease.[1a] Around the beginning of M40, a Genestealer arrived on Ghosar Quintus aboard a shard of the Space Hulk Curse of Unreason. Over the next years, one by one, the Genestealer infected the members of the cartel with his gene code and soon the Genestealer Cult of the Four-Armed Emperor began to flourish on the planet.[1a]

When the usual investigation of the Inquisition ordos by Inquisitor Chaegryn in 680.M41 ended in suspicious circumstances, the Deathwatch intervened and Kill Team Excis was hurriedly dispatched. Distorted records indicate that the squad of deadly veterans were quickly and brutally destroyed.[1a]

After the disappearance of Kill Team Excis, Cassius and his Deathwatch Kill Team arrived on the planet for further investigation. Cassius' team discovered a world that retained the appearance of Imperial subjugation, but was in fact completely infested with an unbearable xenos taint. A sprawling cult dedicated to the worship of the xenos beast known as the Four-Armed Emperor had infiltrated every corner of Ghosar Quintus and, as if by unspoken command, thousands upon thousands of cultists had taken up arms against the Emperor.[1a] Over the last decades the minor Ghosar dynasties were destroyed[1d] and the Cult had driven its tentacles of influence into every military force, institution, and gubernatorial body of the planet that could oppose its goals.[1i]

The Trysst and their filthy dynasty of Genestealers were eventually destroyed by Cassius and his hand-picked space marines, though only after prolonged and daring fighting and a systemic purge.[1a] However, as it turned out later, the Trisst Dynasty managed to go beyond the boundaries of its planet and scatter throughout the surrounding systems.[2a] For example, this Dynasty started a rebellion on the planet Thousandile, which led to the Bore Wars.[3][Conflicting sources]

Though it previously stated that Cassius and his Kill Team destroyed the Trysst Dynasty on Ghosar Quintus,[1a] in the following Codex: Genestealer Cults (9th Edition) said Space Marines of this Kill-Team 'fought their way through a cauldron of bloodshed and xenos horror', 'escaping with crucial information extracted from Ghosar Quintus' shipping holographs'.[2b]
