The Ulenni are a Necromundan Ratskins tribe, that reside in Hive Primus' Underhive.[1]

History

Their name means The Stones in the Ratskins' language and the Imperium considers the Ulenni to be the strangest, most secretive and rarest of Hive Primus' Ratskin tribes. This is by design, as the Ulenni seek to live in peace and avoid conflict wherever possible. Because of this, they have chosen to dwell within the lowest, harshest, most treacherous and unexplored regions of the Underhive, to avoid encountering Imperials. This also reflects in their name and spiritual philosophy, which advocates sinking to the lowest level of existence. The tribe will rarely leave these areas, where they dwell within collapsed domes and sump pits, and this has led the Ulenni to become much paler than other Ratskins tribes. This is further accentuated by the rat hides they wear, which are often taken from the mutant albino rats that live around the Underhive's lower level sumps.[1]

A further difference is the Ulenni's bodies, which has undergone changes in order to adapt to living within their dangerous environments. They now have powerful, muscular bodies, a natural resilience and are remarkable agile, despite being physically rugged. This has made them formidable opponents, but living within such dark and cramped conditions have left the Ulenni weaker in ballistic skills when compared to other Ratskins tribes. Their physical attributes have also unfortunately made them highly prized as slaves, as well. Despite living in the Underhive's lowest levels, the Ulenni's settlements have now become frequently raided by gangs, who are willing to risk the dangerous environment for a lucrative financial payoff. Those Ulenni who are captured can be sold off to the Merchants Guild for a large sum of money and then made to work within the Guild's mines.[1]
