Ulixis – a verdant world within Ultramar subsector. During the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy, it was marked with distinction as a one of the Five Hundred Worlds of Ultramar.[1c] In particular, it was responsible for large amounts of munitions production.[1a]
History
At the outbreak of the Horus Heresy, it was attacked by Traitor forces, including the Word Bearers[2] and Legio Infernus.[1a] The world was later reinforced by the Legio Lysanda and Legio Oberon and a large-scale conflict between Loyalist and Traitor Titan forces ensued. Ultimately, the Imperials won the day, sending the Chaos forces into retreat.[1a]
Geography
Considered a paradise of inequivalent beauty, marked with high mountain ranges and pristine waterways, Ulixis consists of millions of square kilometres of dense forest surrounding ancient cities.[1c]
Beneath the planet's beautiful exterior lies a honeycomb of tunnel networks threaded through the planet's mantle, dug out by magma-worms. The most notable area of the tunnels was an enormous magma-worm nest known as the Wyrms' Lair. During the Battle of Ulixis the Wyrms' Lair was destroyed, creating a massive hole in the planet's surface.[1a][1c]
Notable Locations
- Ulantia-Primus — A city on Ulixis's southern continent.[1a]
