Ultano was a high ranking officer of the Sons of Horus Legion's command echelon.^[1]

He took part in the Great Crusade and earned a Raven Guard honour badge, that was in the shape of wings. Ultano wore these on his neck, even as he took part in the Horus Heresy's Dropsite Massacre.^[1]
