The Atrum Templum are a Second Founding derived from the Imperial Fists and their primarch, Rogal Dorn. Since this time they have continusly been scouring the galaxy for signs of traitors and corruption to be erradicated.

History

During Horus' attack on the Emperor's Palace, Rogal Dorn Commanded, Then captain, Titanicus Nemesis and the XXIV Company to hold the the wall near the section where it would be breached. Titanicus formed his company up to take full advantage of the massed firepower of its various heavy weapons squads. During the battle, A smal lcontingent of Word Bearers, lead by a fallen chaplain, teleported straight onto the walls not 4 feet from Titanicus and cut him down with a sweep of his cursed Crozius. The Company Was horrified at the loss of their beloved captain and turned the weight of their firepower on the small Traitor force, totaly obliterating them.

After the Horus Heresy, the breakdown of the Imperial Fists into Codex chapters was demanded by Roboute Guilliman. Dorn thought him a coward for not being there with the Ultramarines to help in the defence of Terra. Guilliman in his turn thought a rebel of Dorn for not adhering to the new Codex Astartes.

Neither would give in. Leman Russ, primarch of the Space Wolves, and Vulkan, primarch of the Salamanders both agreed with Dorn, they also did not want their Legions split up and spread across the galaxy. Raven Guard primarch Corax and Jaghatai Khan of the White Scars supported the Ultramarines. Again a civil war was looming on the horizon.

The Imperial Fists were persecuted for their so called heresies and even fired upon by the Imperial Navy. When it looked almost inevitable that civil war would be fought, Dorn finally relented and agreed to split his legion in chapters as dictated by the Codex Astartes. The ATrum Templum were born. Since then the chapter has continued to hunt down traiotors and disenters within and without the Imperium. Their most favourd of enemy to kill are the Word Bearers for what they did to thir chapter durring the Heresy.

Organisation

Master Commander

Is the head of the Chapter, He is the equivilant of other Chapter Masters

1st Company Chaplain

He is the leader of the 1st company, a skilled leader of men and a devout follower of the imperial cult, he is second to the chapter master alone and is on the masters advisory staff.

2nd - 3rd Company Captains

Each one of these individuals are veterans of a thousand campaigns. Temperd in the fires of battle and able to think outside of the box to accomplish all tasks. They are able to wield the awsome firepower of his company to conqour his foes, as well he is able to effectivly cooridinate with his fellows and allies.

Chaplains

The spiritual leaders of the chapter also can fulfil the role of company leader if the Captain is unavailable.

Libraium

The chapter maintains a small number of Libraians to preserve the history of the chapter, to act on the masters advisory staff, and to provide support in combat.

Battle Brothers

The main line warriors of the chapter. Each brother is trained and equpied to the exacting standers of the Codex and is the equal of no less than 15 imperial guardsmen.

Initiates and Neophytes

The chapters scouts are the initiates of the chapter. The Neophytes are the new recruits still undergoing training before promotion to the ranks of the scouts.

Doctrines and Codex adherence

The Atrum Templum, only just follow the strictures of the Codex Astartes. They have organised their company to the eradication of chaos marines. Thus the first company is lead by a chaplain instead of a captain. The first specilize in close combat with terminator heavy weapons providing longer ranged fire support alongside the chapters few land raiders. The other 9 companies are complete battle companies, removing one assualt squad from each company to include an additional Devestator squad. In addition, each company maintains 4 Scout Squads. Each one of these scouts specilize in differnt forms of warfare, Tactical assault and sniper scouts being the most commen configuration for the squads. The chapter also hosts members of all three ordo's of the Inquisition and thus can call upon the armies seconded to the inquisitors in the futherance of their noble cause. These private armies can range from small units of Inquisition Storm Troopers to Entire Imperial Battlegroups.

Combat doctrines

The chapter specilizes in eradicating the enemy with long ranged fire support. Only launching themeselves into close combat to brutaly mop up the remenants of their enemy. The exception to this rule is in the first company. The 1st specilize in using all maner of powerful close combat weapons and long range support to totaly erradicate any threat, their prefered target being Chaos and Renegade marines.
