Updating images

Hello.

• Please place pictures that you have replaced with more recent images into a gallery section. Reason: We do not want to lose other references. See Blood_Disciples for how it is done. Example Flawless Host. The original artwork was deleted by GW. Even the archived page does not have it anymore. If you simply remove it without saving it in a gallery it could be potentially lost forever.
• Image uploads:
  • Summary: is compulsory.
  • Copyright: is {{GWCopyright}}, nothing else allowed.
  • Category: absolutely necessary!

My apologies, new to working on a wiki dealing with external properties. I didn't actually override any old images, won't the old images be available in the Lexicanum image uploads themselves with the proper references already (or are orphaned images deleted?) I'll make sure to address my image uploads properly in the future though (didn't realize the GW copyright text was a tag to generate), thank you for the feedback. First two helpful remarks on commenting: Simply type --~~~~, it will be automatically trnasformed into a timestamped Signature. And please use indentations (= by adding increasing numbers of colons) in front of your comments for better readability.

As to your question: Yes, orphaned files get routinely deleted. But even if they were not they could easily get lost amongst the many, many files existing in the Lex. So the general policy is: If it is not used, it gets deleted. That is by the way also the reason why one always has to "store" images on some page or other if one plans to use them later.

And please add Category to your uploaded images. Just find the similar image (for example - the art image of another CSM of the Emperor's Children) and add the same Category. Images that needed Category are collected here -->[1]--Darkelf77 (talk) 18:20, 31 May 2020 (UTC)
