Vadol Majoris System
The Vadol Majoris System is a star system of Imperial space, located on the Eastern Fringe of the Ultima Segmentum.[1]
History
In 680.M41 a Deathwatch Kill-Team led by Ortan Cassius aboard the frigate Veritas arrived in the Vadol Majoris System during a hunt for the Ork Warboss Drogg Mordakka. When they translated in-system they received a distress call from a refuelling station known as Port Cepheus, which was reporting an attack by unidentified enemies.[1]
Assuming that Mordakka was attacking the station, the Kill-Team made their way to the port and Cassius led a boarding party to confront the Orks he thought were onboard, only to find that the station was infested by Genestealers and all of the remaining human crew had either been killed by the xenos or died in an attempted escape.[1]
As the Kill-Team investigated Port Cepheus, they were forced to fight a running battle with the Genestealers. Afterwards, Cassius received orders from Watch Commander Quovis Vaerion instructing him to split his team; Cassius and half of the team continued on Mordakka's trail, while the other half, redesignated Kill Team Excis, would follow the source of the infestation to its origin point to more thoroughly investigate. After the two teams left the station, Cassius ordered the Veritas to destroy Port Cepheus.[1]
