The Venom Thorns are a Renegade Imperial Fists Successor Chapter.[1]

Their chapter symbol is a golden fist gripping a hammer.[1]
History
After fighting for years on the Eastern Fringe, the Venom Thorns felt they deserved ownership of the worlds they had fought xenos and traitors on, starting with the planet Xanatar. Similar to the Ultramarines realm of Ultramar they wanted to rule over an entire region of space in recognition of the battles they had won and the battle-brothers they had lost. Before this desire brought them into greater conflict with the Imperium, Reclusiarch Belisar of the Imperial Fists came to Xanatar to try and reason with them. When that failed, Belisar began to kill the Venom Thorns with the one hundred bolter rounds he had forged for this very task. It is not known how many Venom Thorns Belisar killed, but he left the planet with at least one bolter round left and a statue of honour was built for him on the Phalanx. What happened to the Venom Thorns after this is unknown, but their dreams of ownership of the worlds they had fought and died for did not come to pass.[1]
Known Members
- Tek'Shal - Fought and defeated Belisar in the Feast of Blades, which he went on to win. Belisar tried to reason with him and his chapter against claiming ownership of the planet Xanatar; when this did not work, Tek'Shal was the first of the Venom Thorns to be killed by Belisar.[1]
