Verdfall lies near the Veiled Region and was once an Imperium world, until it fell to an Ork invasion in late M41.[1]

As the Orks were salvaging from Verdfall's ruins, the world was invaded by the Crimson Slaughter Warband, who thought it may contain the Hellfire Stone Chaos Artefact they had been searching for. In the battle that followed, the Crimson Slaughter made short work of the Orks and soon left when they determined that the Hellfire Stone was not located on Verdfall, leaving the world in ruins and strewn with corpses.[1]
