Veritas Van Skorvold
Veritas Van Skorvold was one of the heads of the Van Skorvold Cartel.[1a]
Biography
Veritas and her brother, Callisthenes Van Skorvold, inherited ownership of the cartel following the death of their father, Diego.[1a] Veritas suffered from a rare mutation that stunted her growth, effectively halting her aging and giving her the appearance of a prepubescent despite being over 40 years old.[1b]
When the Van Skorvold cartel came under scrutiny from the Administratum, following persistent rumours that the cartel was engaged in illegal mutant smuggling, the cartel's headquarters were raided by the Soul Drinkers. As the Soul Drinkers' Commander, Caeon, led a force in storming the fort's bridge, he was stabbed in the leg by Veritas, whom he had mistaken for a servant girl due to her size.[1a] This act would eventually kill Caeon[1c], as Veritas's digital needler contained a cocktail of xeno-toxins potent enough to overwhelm even the genhanced biology of a Space Marine.[1b]
Veritas was detained on board the star fort, and was still there when the Soul Drinkers were forced to destroy it. She escaped the fort's destruction in a saviour pod. After three days, she was picked up by the cruiser Hydranye Ko and arrested.[1d]
