History
Vespa Crusade/First Purification of Vespa
Vespa was once a prosperous and loyal colony, until the Chaos witch Morgana seduced the Planetary Governor to Chaos worship and rebelling against the Imperium.[1] Her victory was short lived, however, as the Blood Ravens Chapter soon launched the Vespa Crusade to reclaim the planet.[2a] The Crusade entered its climax as the Blood Ravens stormed the Black Abbey, Morgana's stronghold[2b], where the Chaos witch slayed the Blood Raven expedition leader and most of his staff before finally being killed by the young initiate Davian Thule. After Morgana's death, the Blood Ravens purged all life from the planet.[1]
Second Purification of Vespa
Some time later Vespa was re-colonized, but rebellion once again raged across the planet. The Blood Ravens returned to Vespa[2d] and with the aid of the Adepta Sororitas of the Order of the Golden Light[2c] and the Order of the Lost Rosetta put half the planet to flame to end the rebellion.[2d]
