Vessorine Janissaries are clannish Mercenary bands from the Imperial Feral World Vessor.^[1d]

History

These savage warriors are rightly feared throughout the Scarus Sector^[1d] and circa 396.M41,^[1a] the Heretic Pontius Glaw hired eight hundred Janissaries to aid in his plot to destroy Inquisitor Eisenhorn.^[1d] The Mercenaries were also charged with destroying Eisenhorn's network of contacts and they essentially wiped out the Inquisitor's Distaff organisation on Messina.^[1a] However, while Eisenhorn suffered greatly and nearly lost all of his allies to Glaw's forces, the Inquisitor was able to kill the Heretic on Ghul.^[1b]
