Often thought of as one of the most promising of Warmaster Slaydo's general officers, Vichres was well-known for both his tactical acumen and his popularity with the rank-and-file soldiery, in part because of his willingness to lead from the front. This last quality may have contributed to his death, caught in an enemy trap on Cociaminus, where he had assumed command after General Forgues was killed in action. [1]
After the campaign, Vichres's body was buried with full honours in a mausoleum on Cociaminus, though both were violated and defaced by the Chaos forces during their subsequent counter-offensives.[1]
