Volkite Carronade on a Fellglaive[1]

The Volkite Carronade was a type of Volkite Weapon used by the Legiones Astartes and Mechanicum during the Great Crusade and Horus Heresy.[1]

The largest type of ground-based Volkite Weapon outside of those used by the Collegia Titanica and Knights, the Volkite Carronade is fearsomely powerful but enormously expensive to produce and maintain. It features a length reinforced barrel with heavy duty focusing panels, allowing it to build a large energy charge before unleashing a continuous beam. The beam can be maintained for a short time dependent on how much charge it had been allowed to accumulate, and if sufficiently charged up it can scythe through whole ranks of enemy troops. However the drawback of this tactic is that longer charges require longer recharge cycles. While most effective against concentrated ranks of enemy, it can also be used against lighter vehicles and large beasts to great effect.[2]
