Wage of Sin
The Wage of Sin is a Battle Barge used by the Emperor's Children.[1] It is the personal flagship of Lord Commander Primus Eidolon.[1][2a]
History
Horus Heresy
Dating back to the Great Crusade,[1] the Wage of Sin fell under the control of Eidolon during the Horus Heresy. He made it his flagship, housing his personal warband of the 3rd Millennial. Under the heavy influence of Slaanesh, the ship and its mortal crew became twisted and mutated. Large sections became engulfed in perpetual twilight, and numerous compartments came to house the twisted experiments and art pieces of its Emperor's Children overlords.[2a]
The ship was part of the Emperor's Children armada which embarked from Ullanor toward Terra to take part in Horus' final assault on the throneworld. On the way, the Wage of Sin was assailed by Slaaneshi daemons under the Shattered King, forcing Eidolon to personally cleanse the vessel. Regardless, the attack disrupted the warp routes and marooned the vessel and the rest of the 3rd Millennial's fleet in the orbit of Tatricala.[2a] The Wage of Sin subsequently fought in the Battle of Tatricala, first assisting in the planetary invasion and later battling the rival fleet of the Sons of Horus' 23rd Company.[2b]
Later history
The Wage of Sin remained the flagship of Eidolon over the next millennia, even as he came to lead the largest and most organised Emperor's Children warbands. However, it also maintained close ties with the Black Legion, and was seen alongside the ships of Abaddon the Despoiler on multiple Black Crusades.[1]
By M41, the ship was frequently used to capture slaves to feed the appetites of the hedonistic Emperor's Children, and boasted a large retinue of Noise Marines.[1]
