War in the Webway
| This article is about the Battle in M37; for the Horus Heresy battle, see War Within the Webway. |
The War in the Webway[1] (also the First War in the Webway)[2] was a battle fought in 579.M37.[1]
The Sorcerers coven of the Kindled Spirits thrallband[2] of the Thousand Sons conducted a great ritual in the webway, hoping to gain access to Commorragh. At the ritual’s climax, hundreds of Dark Eldar poured from an invisible portal into their ranks, led by vaulting troupes of Harlequins. Battle was joined as the Tzeentchian Sorcerers counter-attacked; the fabric of the webway was breached in the process and its arterial walls buckled and burst. The backlash stranded the combatants in a shattered pocket reality with no way out. It is rumoured in Commorragh that they fight there still, locked in an endless cycle of war and rebirth for the rest of time.[1]
