History

Fabricator General Weyldran Lyrzek[1a]

In M42[1b], the Forge World came under threat when the gargantuan Space Hulk, Forsaken Doom emerged from the Warp. It was on a collision course with Gorgonum, leading Lyrzek to send out a plea for aid[1c] that was answered by the Blood Angels Captain Ubaldo, aboard the Battle Barge Blood Crusader[1a]. Lyrzek was grateful for their aid, however due to the losses suffered in their previous campaign, Ubaldo was only able to assemble a single Terminator Squad for the mission[1c]. Led by Sergeant Tahariel, the squadron quickly infiltrated the Space Hulk and began placing a series of Melta-bombs near energy cores within the Forsaken Doom[1a]. Though Inquisitor Jost von Marburg aided the squadron as well[1d], the process was slow and Fabricator General Lyrezk began to panic[1e]. While the Forge World's defense fleet attacked the Space Hulk[1f], its safety lied within the Blood Angel's hands. Each second carried the Forsaken Doom was closer to Gorgonum and its impact would either destroy the Forge World or infest it with Genestealers[1e]. Not helping Lyrzek's demeanor, was that Sergeant Tahariel's squadron began undergoing separate missions[1g], given to them by Inquisitor Marburg[1h] and Captain Ubaldo.[1g]

This led Lyrzek to contact Captain Ubaldo and the Terminator Squad, to remind them of their commitment to save Gorgonum. He went on to say, that if the Forge World was destroyed by the Forsaken Doom, then the blame would upon the Blood Angels. This greatly angered the Captain and he told Lyrzek, that the Fabricator General would regret any attempt to blackmail this Chapter. Inquisitor Marburg would interject between them and claimed the Blood Angels were following his orders. Marburg would tell Lyrzek that the needs of the Ordo Xenos had priority first[1e]. When the Forsaken Doom later neared Gorgonum, the Fabricator General asked the Inquisitor if he should begin evacuating what valuable resources he could save. To Lyrek's dismay, Marburg refused to allow an evacuation to take place, for the safety of the Imperium, due to the closeness of the Genestealer infested Space Hulk. Lyrzek opposed this and claimed that Marburg had no authority to stop anyone on the Forge World from trying to escape. The Inquisitor replied that anyone who did so, would violate a direct command from the Ordo Xenos and he doubted the Adeptus Mechanicus would dare to do so. Captain Ubaldo would then tell Lyrzek not to fear, as Sergeant Tahariel's squadron was almost done planting the Melta-bombs. Ubaldo then told the Fabricator General to hold his nerves and swore the Blood Angels would prevail[1i]. Shortly afterwards, the Terminator squadron completed their task and the Forsaken Doom was destroyed. With its destruction, Gorgonum was safe once more.[1j]
