Yehzod

Yehzod was a Chaos Sorcerer allied with Lord Vassaago of the Night Lords Warband Prophets of True Night.[1]

Yehzod aided Vassaago in preparing the planet Sarastus for new recruits from the planet. This was somewhat something of a convenient agenda, however, as Yhezod was more interested in studying a Warp-phenomenon present on Sarastus called the Black Sun during each True Night. Despite this, neither trusted the other (to the point that Vassaago did not consider the Sorcerer a true member of his warband).[1]

Despite nominally being subordinate and master, Yezhod and Vassaago competed for influence over the warband. Vassaago represented the conservative faction that cleaved to Konrad Curze's ideal of spurning the Warp, while Yehzod controlled the faction that sought to embrace Chaos. This played out during the fourth True Night in their proxies within the warband: Vassaago's loyal lieutenant Zhara'shan and his subordinate, and Yehzod's more fanatical follower Haz'thur. After the events of this recruiting, with Haz'thur's death and the recruiting of Zeth, momentum in this struggle would start to swing towards Vassaago's secular doctrine.[1]

Notes

Although it was said in the short story Nightfall that Yehzod claimed that he was a Heretic Astartes, Vassaago believed that the Sorcerer more closely resembled a fallen adept of the Adeptus Mechanicus. His exact nature is therefore unknown.[1]
