Zatori Zan
Zatori Zan was a Space Marine of the Imperial Fists Chapter.[2d]
Biography
Zatori was born in Sipang on the planet Triandr.[1][2a] At one point he was part of a military expedition from Sipang that sailed to the island of Eokaroe to do battle with their enemies, an army from the nation of Caritaigne.[2a]
The two armies met in battle, clashing with both each other and a number of the native Eokaroeans in heated combat.[2b] Unbeknownst to the armies, a recruitment party of Imperial Fists was observing the battle (Triandr being one of the Chapter's recruitment worlds); Zatori, along with du Queste and Taloc, were among those judged worthy of becoming Aspirants due to their actions.[2c]
After being inducted, the three became Scouts, serving under Veteran Scout Sergeant Hilts. He was part of a Scout Bike squadron led by Hilts conducting anti-Ork operations on Tunis. Zatori distinguished himself by saving Hilts's life after the Sergeant was injured by the Biker-Nob Rotgrim Skab, going on to kill the Nob with his meltagun.[1]
Zatori was also known for his adherence to the wisdom of the Imperial Fists battle-scholar Rhetoricus, in particular his famous tome, The Book of Five Spheres.[1]
All three eventually became full Battle-Brothers, following the events on Vernalis.[2d]
