Zeb'du Varr
Zeb'du Varr was a Firedrake of the Salamanders Legion during the Horus Heresy, and one of the Unscarred.[1]
Biography
Varr was a pyromaniac stationed on Prometheus. He was among those chosen by Forgefather T'kell to escort the Artefacts of Vulkan. Varr was considered insane by his brothers and had a love for fire that was completely obsessive. Though some in the legion considered his insanity akin to a shamanic wisdom. Zau'ull theorizing that Varr had had contact with the Earth Shamans of Nocturne.[1]
Varr often sought out Zandu during the mission, as the other legionairy also saw visions. Varr became intrigued by Zandu's visions of a burning man. Zandu later expired from radiation poisoning during the mission. At one point during the mission Varr had become aware of his impending death and sought out chaplain Zau'ull to warn him of an attack. Zau'ull and Varr were attacked by Morikan and a revenant of Zandu who had been subjected to the Keys of Hel by Kastigan Ulok. During the battle, Varr set himself and Morikan on fire, triggering the revenant of Zandu to recognize the burning man and attack Morikan. This distraction gave Zau'ull the time he needed to kill Morikan. Varr succumbed to his burns not much later.[1]
