The Joran Retribution, also known as the Joran VI Retribution, was a battle fought on Joran VI by the Joran VI Retaliation Force[2], aiming to rescue Astra Militarum forces from the T’au.[1]
History
The Joran Retribution began near the end of the Damocles Crusade, with the intention of saving nearly 100 outflanked Regiments of Astra Militarum from T’au and Traitor Infantry forces.[1]
The Retribution involved forces of the Ultramarines 1st Company, 3rd Company, and 10th Company, as part of the Joran VI Retaliation Force, including a Strike Force[2] led by Captain Jehnnus Ardias, as well as Mikael Fabian, then a Veteran among the 1st Company elements.[1]
While successful in rescuing millions of Astra Militarum troops, the Ultramarines companies involved in the Retribution suffered high losses, especially the 3rd Company, which formed the majority of the Space Marine force. Captain Jehnnus Ardias was slain in the final battle in the extraction zones.[1]
The Ultramarines were unable to strike another blow against the T’au as they were recalled to Macragge to fight against Hive Fleet Behemoth.[1]
