The Shield Chapters of Ultramar are 10^[1] Ultramarine-descended Chapters, who Lord Commander Guilliman has charged with permanently defending the Realm of Ultramar. In order to perform their duties, each Shield Chapter has command of a world within Ultramar, to use as their base of operations.^[2]

Notes

In chapter 1 of the Dark Imperium: Godblight (Novel), the Tetrarch Felix states that his Chosen of Vespator Honor Guard each come from one of the ten Shield Chapters^[1]. In chapter 5 of the Belisarius Cawl: The Great Work (Novel), Felix lists the names of each of his Chosen and what Chapter they came from.^[3]
