Aspects of Khaine
The Eldar Aspect Warriors are warriors that have progressed down the Path of the Warrior. Each aspect represents a fighting style embodied in the Eldar god of war, Kaela Mensha Khaine.
Warp Spider Aspect
The Warp Spiders are named for the tiny spider-like creatures that circulate within the infinity circuit of each Craftworld. These spiders act as the Circuit's immune system, searching for and destroying any taint of Chaos that would otherwise corrupt the entire infinity circuit.
The Warp Spider Aspect epitomize "aggressive defence" and the unexpected attack. Their warp-packs allow them to make short range jumps through the warp, appearing amid the enemy, cutting them down, before jumping back to their original postion.
This Aspect is viewed as untrustworthy and suspicious by some Eldar.4 They are nevertheless regarded as the bravest aspect warriors as their tactics require them to spend a short amount of time in the warp. The warp is particularly hostile to Eldar, and even the short moment Warp Spiders must spent within it puts not only their lives but their souls at risk.
Aspect Wargear
The Warp Spider aspect warriors are equipped with:
- Death Spinner.1,3
- Warp Spider Jump Generator.1,3
- Heavy Aspect Armor.1,3
Exarch
An Exarch is the leader of an Aspect Shrine. He is one that has traveled so far down the Path of the Warrior, that he can no longer turn from that path to follow another path. This gives them great skill and dedication.
Exarch Wargear
In addition to the wargear of the aspect, the Exarch can be armed with a number of special wargear:
- Two Death Spinners.3
- Spinneret Rifle.1,3
- Powerblades.1,3
- Exarch Armor.1,3
Exarch Powers
The Exarch may study the secrets of the shrine to allow himself and any of his Aspect warriors to go beyond the normal Aspect training.
- Surprise Assault.1,3 The Exarch can lead his squad through the warp and suddenly reappear to shoot the enemy.
- Withdraw.3 Under the guidance of the Exarch the Warp Spiders know the best moment to safely withdraw from close combat without risk.
Phoenix Lord
The Warp Spiders have no known Phoenix Lord. However, some claim that the Wraith Spider (Lhykosidae), a similar position on the Kaelor Craftworld is the Phoenix Lord of the Warp Spiders. Others disagree due to the tendancy of Phoenix Lords to have appeared far earlier in history and help found their aspect. 4
