Kill-Teams are the standard organisational unit of the Deathwatch Space Marines.

These Teams are organised to hunt down and kill Xenos and consist of Battle-Brothers from many different Chapters.^[1] Kill Teams are often temporary units, with a team being disbanded and its members spread to other teams in order to disseminate knowledge on fighting certain types of Xenos.^[4a]

The basic organisational structure of a Kill-Team consists of one Sergeant and between four and nine Deathwatch Marines. Deathwatch officers invariably choose their members of their Kill Team in order to draw on as much relevant experience as possible. With different Chapters having long-standing specializations, it is easy to identify those who will have the most relevant insights in a given circumstance. Long-standing rivalries between certain chapters, such as the Dark Angels and Space Wolves, can effect the capabilities of Kill-Teams but more often than not members of these squads will eventually establish bonds of firm friendship.^[3b]^[4a]

Types of Deathwatch Kill Team Operatives

Watch Sergeant - The leaders of Kill-Teams, who wield power weapons and wears Tacticus Armour.^[10]
Blademaster Veteran - Armed with a Xenophase Blade and wears Tacticus Armour.^[10]
Demolisher Veteran - Armed with a Two-Handed Thunder Hammer and wears Tacticus Armour.^[10]
Aegis Veteran - Armed with a Storm Shield and Power Maul and wears Tacticus Armour.^[10]
Gunner Veteran - Armed with a Heavy Plasma Incinerator and wears Tacticus Armour.^[10]
Marksman Veteran - Armed with a Stalker Bolt Rifle and wears Tacticus Armour.^[10]
Headtaker Veteran - Armed with two Combat Blades, a Grav-Chute and a Grapnel Launcher, along with wearing Phobos Armour.^[10]
Disruptor Veteran - Armed with a Marksman Bolt Carbine and an advanced Omni-Scrambler, along with wearing Phobos Armour.^[10]
Horde-slayer Veteran - Armed with an Infernus heavy bolter and wears Gravis Armour.^[10]
Bombard Veteran - Armed with a Frag Cannon and wears Gravis Armour.^[10]
Breacher Veteran Armed with a Hellstorm Bolt Rifle and Melta Bombs, along with wearing Gravis Armour.^[10]

Types of Deathwatch Kill Teams

Aquila Kill Team — Standard Kill-Team meant to handle any eventuality.^[3a]
Dominatus Kill Team — Airborne assault force equipped with Assault Marines.^[3a]
Fortis Kill Teams — Newly introduced in response to the arrival of Primaris Space Marines. These are the Primaris equivalent of Aquila Kill Teams, basing its structure around a core of Intercessors, Assault Intercessors, Hellblasters, and Outriders.^[4b]
Furor Kill Team — Terminator-equipped shock assault force.^[3a]
Indomitor Kill Team - Newly introduced in response to the arrival of Primaris Space Marines. Its members take advantage of the new Mk.X Gravis Power Armour. They consist of Heavy Intercessors, Aggressors, Inceptors, and Eradicators.^[5a]
Malleus Kill Team — Close combat force equipped with Thunder Hammers, Power Weapons, and Storm Shields.^[3a]
Proteus Kill Team - Veteran unit consisting of Deathwatch Veterans which may include Terminator Armour, Vanguard Veterans, and Veteran Bikers.^[5a]
Purgatus Kill Team - Designed for slaying the horrific and cunning leaders of the xenos.^[5b]
Spectrus Kill Team - Designed around stealth and tactics similar to that of Vanguard squads in Codex Chapters. It consists of Infiltrators, Incursors, Reivers, and Eliminators.^[5a]
Venator Kill Team — Fast-attack and encirclement force equipped with bikes and Terminators or heavy weapon-equipped Space Marines.^[3a]
