Kill Team Primus

They were among the Imperial forces that defended[1b] the Recidious System, after it was invaded by a Leviathan Splinter Fleet.[1c] Kill Team Primus later answered[1b] Archmagos Nozick Beta-12's plea for aid on Kadaku, when the Xenos threatened the secretive Project Aurora, that Nozick was developing. While Imperial forces had been preparing to bombard the world, they were stopped by the Archmagos due to the potential damage it could cause to Project Aurora.[1a] Because of the need for restraint, Kill Team Primus was charged with deploying an incendiary Virus Bomb in order to delay the Tyranid invasion and defend the Aurora Facility, where the project was being developed. This would be done by using an Orbital Launcher Facility to fire the bomb into Kadaku's stratosphere, where it would explode and kill the invading Tyranids.[1b]
However Kill Team Primus' Corvus Blackstar was attacked by a swarm of Gargoyles, as they neared the Orbital Launcher Facility. In the battle that followed, most of the Kill-Team was thrown from the gunship, either because they were dragged out by the Gargoyles or fell as the Blackstar began to crash. While the Black Templar Beren was able to remain with the gunship, the others were scattered in the area around the Facility. Without the aid of their fellow Primus members, the Kill-Team was overwhelmed by the Tyranids and only Demetrian Titus survived the onslaught to complete their mission. After the bomb exploded, though, Titus was attacked by a horde of the Xenos and would have died, without the intervention[1b] of the Ultramarines' 2nd Company. The remains of the Kill Team were then found by the Ultramarines and Titus was reinstated into the Company, which he had led before becoming a Black Shield. This brought an end to Kill Team Primus and worse still, the Tyranids were able to quickly adapt to the Virus Bomb' effects.[1c]
