They were among the Imperial forces that defended[1b] the Recidious System, after it was invaded by a Leviathan Splinter Fleet.[1c] Kill Team Primus later answered[1b] Archmagos Nozick Beta-12's plea for aid on Kadaku, after the Xenos threatened the secretive Project Aurora, that Nozick was developing. Because of the Archmagos' call for restrain in defending Kadaku, in order to prevent damaging the Project's facility,[1a] Kill Team Primus was charged with deploying a Virus Bomb to kill the Tyranids.[1b]
However the Kill-Team's Corvus Blackstar was attacked by a swarm of Gargoyles, as they neared the Orbital Launcher Facility that would be used to launch the Virus Bomb. In the battle that followed, the Black Templar Beren was able to hold onto the bomb, as most of Kill Team Primus was thrown from the gunship before it crashed. While he was able to remain with the gunship, though, the others were scattered in the area around the Facility. After they had fallen, only Kelstros and the Space Wolf Ulfar were able to make contact with each other. With time of the essence and not knowing the fate of their leader, the Black Shield Demetrian Titus, Ulfar told Kelstros to take command. The Blood Angel then tasked the Space Wolf with recovering the Virus Bomb from the Blackstar's crash site, while he defended the Orbital Facility from the Tyranids. Ulfar would fight his through the Xenos, but as he neared the gunship the Space Wolf was slain by a Tyranid Warrior.[1b]
Unaware of Ulfar's death, Kelstros fought on as an increasing number of Tyranids attacked the Orbital Launcher Facility. The situation soon became critical and the Blood Angel desperately asked if Ulfar or any of Kill Team Primus's members had recovered the Virus Bomb. He received no reply and shortly afterwards, Kelstros was killed by a Ripper Swarm. Unbeknownst to the Blood Angel, though, Demetrian Titus, had survived falling from their Corvus Blackstar, but his landing had damaged the Black Shield's Vox equipment. While he could hear them, Titus had been unable to inform Ulfar and Kelstros that he still lived. The Black Shield had recovered the Virus Bomb from Beren's remains and had been making his way to the Orbital Launcher Facility, during Kelstros' last moments. He had pleaded with the Blood Angel to hold on, but by the time Titus arrived, he discovered that Kelstros had already been killed. The Black Shield told the Blood Angel that he had served the Emperor well and then carried the bomb to the Orbital Launcher. Though he was now the only member of Kill Team Primus that still lived, Titus was able to successfully complete their mission.[1b]
