The Abyssal Kindred is a Thousand Sons warband.[1a]
History
Originally under the command of the Sorcerer Lord Leil Jathok, it was subordinate to the Crimson Slaughter Chaos Lord Thelissicus alongside the Night Lords Blades of Atrocity under Dalchian Rassaq.[1a] However Thelissicus' abuses caused Rassaq and the Blades of Atrocity to flee the "alliance", causing the vengeful Gorelord to send Jathok and the Abyssal Kindred after them.[1b] Dalchian was able to convince Jathok into joining his own forces, and together they were able to capture the Black Ship Vitreyu. Jathok then used this opportunity to try and depose Dalchian, but the Night Lord had foreseen this and used Jathok's second-in-command and Warpsmith Gyren Naritsa to betray and capture the Sorcerer.[1c] In the aftermath, most of the Abyssal Kindred went over to Dalchian's warband and declared war against the Crimson Slaughter.[1d]
