Agnar Stonefrost is a Wolf Lord of the Space Wolves Chapter.[1d]

History

He has served for centuries and Stonefrost's heroism has earned the Wolf Lord over a hundred monikers. This includes the Eighth Peak of Asaheim, due to his snow-white mane, tattooed face and mountainous size. Clad in Terminator Armour, Stonefrost rides to battle aboard his personal Land Raider and he is accompanied by his legendary Wolf Guard. Some members also serve as mentors to Blood Claw packs in Stone Frost's Great Company.[1d]

In M42, the Wolf Lord had command of the Strike Cruiser Wrath of Frost, when it received a plea for aid.[1a] The message came from an Astra Militarum Cadian 137th outpost on the Imperial world Xandur Secundus, which was commanded by the Kasrkin Lieutenant, Mordrana. She stated that the world was nearly overrun by Orks and her outpost, the Bastion Resolute, would soon be lost if reinforcements did not arrive soon.[1b] Stonefrost saw this as a perfect opportunity to test his Great Company's mettle and ordered the Wrath of Frost to change course to the besieged world.[1a] Once they arrived though, the Rune Priest Hortvar Storm-Eye's runes prophesied that Warboss[1c] Gitcrusha[1d] would soon create a great Waaagh! on Xandur Secundus. Storm-Eye then warned that if it was left unchecked, the Waaagh!'s rampage would cause it to grow exponentially in size.[1c]

Despite his warning, though, Stonefrost would only send two Drop Pods for his initial strike against the Orks. These Space Wolves would then be charged with defending the Bastion Resolute,[1c] while the rest of the Wolf Lord's Great Company later arrived there aboard a fleet of Thunderhawks. Though Storm-Eye wanted the Drop Pods to contain packs of Grey Hunters, due to the threat of his prophecy, Stonefrost only permitted one to do so. The other, would contain a Blood Claw pack, which the Wolf Lord allowed the Rune Priest to select. This would ultimately be the pack that was mentored by the Wolf Guard Norjax. With that, the Drop Pods were sent to Xandur Secundus[1c] and after fighting off several failed attempts by the Orks to board the Wrath of Frost, the rest of the Great Company followed them. Their Thunderhawks arrived at the outpost, which had been saved by the Drop Pod Space Wolves' efforts. However, Stonefrost learned that this was only due to Norjax's Blood Claw pack,[1d] as the Grey Hunters had been slain shortly after landing on the world.[1c]

The Wolf Lord praised their success and Hortvar Storm-Eye's further rune reading, caused him to believe it would be Norjax's Blood Claw pack that killed Warboss Gitcrusha. This prophecy, led Stonefrost to allow the Blood Claws to come up with a strategy to defeat the Ork leader.[1d] Once they did so, the Wolf Lord's Great Company carried out their plans[1e] and the battle ended with the Orks' defeat and Gitcrusha's dead at the Blood Claws' hands. This quickly ended the threat of a Waaagh! forming and also greatly reduced the Orks' hold on Xandur Secundus.[1f]
